I was lucky to grow up in a family who loved the arts-especially creating visual art. I remember painting the sidewalks with water at a young age. My creative nature has taken many turns through the years, but fabrics and painting have stood out.
My starting point is raw cotton canvases. Each is treated to undertake a transformation from a soft but sturdy cotton, to a firm yet flexible base. Acrylic gesso is used to do this in several steps. Latex and acrylic paints along with glazes and metallic reactive paints facilitate the end products.
I love nature and often create designs inspired by the colors, textures and shapes I find on hikes and excursions.
